Can You Get a Police Clearance at Any Police Station?

Can I get police clearance anywhere? Yes. The national police clearance runs on one countrywide system, so any station listed on the PNP’s portal can process yours, wherever your home address is. The only exception is a local clearance, which comes from your own town’s station.
Checked on 29 October 2026, using the station list and booking screens on pnpclearance.ph.
In other words, your address doesn’t decide where you apply. Instead, you do. A worker from Iloilo living in Pasig can book in Pasig, and a student from Davao studying in Cebu can book in Cebu.
Before we go further: we write this guide independently, and we never take bookings ourselves. You’ll book only on the official portal.
Who benefits from booking anywhere
The rule helps anyone whose daily life happens away from their home address:
- Workers in the city. Book near the office and lose an hour, not a day.
- Students far from home. Apply near campus between classes.
- People who just moved. Your old address can stay on your ID while you book near your new home.
- Filipinos home on vacation. Pick a station near where you’re staying.
- Anyone facing a full calendar. If your nearest station has no slots, the next town may have plenty.
Can you get police clearance anywhere? Here’s why it works
The national clearance doesn’t depend on which station prints it. When you book, the portal ties your appointment to your online profile. At the station, staff capture your photo and fingerprints, and the system checks your record against the PNP’s national database. So the result is the same in Manila, Baguio or General Santos.

That’s also why the clearance works across the country. It doesn’t carry a “valid only in this town” limit. Instead, it simply shows the result of a nationwide check.
Police clearance anywhere: what still depends on the station
Your choice of station doesn’t change the clearance. Still, it does change your day:
- Open slots. Each station releases its own dates and sessions.
- The queue. Busy city stations can mean a longer wait than a quiet town station.
- A possible HIT. If a match needs checking, you may have to return to the same station. A station near home or work makes that second trip easier.
- Office hours and local habits. Small details, like how early the line forms, differ from place to place.
Booking far from home: a quick example
Take Ana, who lives in Batangas but works in Makati. Her employer wants a clearance by Friday. So on Monday night, she registers on her phone and books a Makati station for Wednesday morning, before her shift. Then she pays by GCash right away, since store payments can take longer to post. On Wednesday, she shows her ID, reference number and receipt, gets her biometrics done, and is back at her desk before lunch. Because Makati is her daily route, a return trip for a HIT would also have been easy.
Common worries about booking elsewhere
A few questions come up again and again:
- Will my employer mind which station issued it? No. It’s the same national clearance either way.
- Do I need a barangay paper from the new place? Not for the national clearance. A barangay certificate only matters if you’re claiming the free first-time jobseeker clearance.
- What if I move again before my next renewal? If you qualify for a renewal without appearance, no station is involved at all. Otherwise, you simply pick a new station again.
How to pick a station to get police clearance
Use these questions to choose well:
- Where will you be on a weekday morning or afternoon?
- Which nearby stations have open slots in the next week or two?
- Could you return there easily if a HIT needs a second visit?
- Is it simple to reach by public transport?
After that, book on the official portal, pay, and arrive a little early. Our page on booking an appointment shows the screens step by step.

Does the station change how fast you get it?
Only a little. The records check is the same everywhere, so the result arrives just as fast in a small town as in a big city. What differs is the queue. A busy city station may have a long line at opening time, while a quieter station nearby moves faster. So if speed matters, compare a city station with one in the next town, and pick the earlier session of the day.
Can I get police clearance in any police station?
For the national clearance, yes, as long as the station appears on the portal’s list. For a local clearance, however, you usually go to the station serving your home town, because it checks mostly local records. Our guide to local clearances explains the difference.
