How to Book a Police Clearance Appointment Online

Calendar week with one date picked and AM and PM sessions for a police clearance online appointment

Your slot is the one part of a police clearance you can’t sort out at the station. You make your police clearance online appointment on the PNP’s portal. There, you say why you need the clearance, where you’ll go, and which day and session suit you. The booking only holds once it’s paid, and payment must arrive at least two banking days before your date, so pay right after you save it.

Facts checked on 17 October 2026, using the PNP’s portal and its application guide.

We’re an independent guide, not the PNP. The police clearance online appointment link is the official PNP clearance portal itself, so book there and nowhere else.

Before you book a police clearance appointment

Booking comes after your account, not before it. If you haven’t signed up yet, start with registration. Then fill in your profile completely, because the portal uses it for your clearance. Fields like complexion confuse many people, and our guide to the profile fields clears them up.

How to make an appointment for police clearance

Five steps to book a police clearance online appointment: purpose, station, date, session and reference number

A PNP clearance online appointment takes a few minutes once your profile is done.

Step 1: Open Clearance Application

Sign in and click Clearance Application. This is the National Police Clearance System appointment screen, and everything below happens on it.

Step 2: Choose your purpose

Pick the reason you need the clearance from the list. If you’re a first-time jobseeker, pick that option and bring the barangay First Time Jobseeker certification. It makes one clearance free.

Step 3: Pick a police station

Any station on the list works, because a national police clearance online appointment isn’t tied to your home address. More on choosing well below.

Step 4: Choose a date and session

The calendar only lets you pick dates with open slots. Each date offers a morning and an afternoon session. That date and session become your police clearance schedule, so pick one you can actually make.

Step 5: Save and keep your reference number

Choose LandBank when the portal asks how you’ll pay, then press Next and Save. A reference number appears. Take a screenshot. That number links your PNP police clearance online appointment to your payment and your station visit.

Which station should you pick?

Most people pick the station nearest their home. That’s fine, but it isn’t your only choice. Think about where you’ll be on the day. A station near your office might save you half a day off work. If you work in another city, you can book there instead.

Also think about a second trip. If your name gets a HIT, the desk may ask you to come back for the release. A station you can reach easily makes that return visit easy. The clearance itself is the same wherever you go, so convenience should decide. Here’s more on applying at any station.

Check your police clearance online appointment

After you save, open your Transactions page. Your police clearance booking should be listed there with its reference number. Until the money arrives, its payment status reads Pending. That’s normal, and it changes once the payment clears.

Pay before the cut-off

If the money isn’t in by two banking days before your date, the portal can drop the booking. There are no refunds, so only pay for a date you’re sure you’ll keep. Our fee guide shows what the convenience charge adds.

No police clearance appointment slots? Try this

Police clearance appointments fill up fast at busy stations. There’s no single national time when new slots appear, so a few habits help:

  • Try a nearby station. A national police clearance appointment in the next town gives you the same document.
  • Look further ahead. Later dates often have room when this week is full.
  • Check both sessions. The afternoon may still have space when the morning doesn’t.
  • Come back on another day. Stations add dates on their own schedules.
What to try when police clearance appointment slots are full: a nearby station, a later date or the other session

If an employer needs the clearance by a set date, book a week or two ahead. Two things never help, though. Don’t pay anyone who promises a “guaranteed slot,” and don’t open a second account to get around a full calendar. One account keeps your records and any later renewal in one place.

On the day of your police clearance appointment

Get there before your session starts, because your PNP online appointment covers that session only. Have three things in hand: an original government ID, the reference number, and proof that you paid. Not sure your ID qualifies? Check the accepted IDs, and glance at what to wear too.

At the desk, staff look up your booking and capture your photo, signature and fingerprints. With no HIT, you usually leave with your clearance. If there’s a match, the release time can stretch to a few working days.

Quick answers

Does an online appointment for police clearance cost anything?

No. A PNP clearance appointment is free to book. You pay only for the clearance: the ₱150 fee and the convenience charge of your payment channel.

Do I need an appointment for police clearance?

For the national clearance, plan on yes. Walk-in rules depend on the station, and our walk-in guide explains what to expect.

Can I book on my phone?

Yes. You can make a police clearance online appointment in a phone browser, so you don’t need a computer or an app. Just keep the reference number somewhere you won’t lose it.

Is registration the same as the appointment?

No. Registration creates your account, and the appointment books your visit. You register once, then book an appointment whenever you need to appear in person.

What does the reference number do?

It ties your booking to your payment. Bring it to the station, because staff use it to find your application.
