Police Clearance Renewal Online: With or Without a Station Visit

Your clearance ran out, and a new employer wants a fresh one. Police clearance renewal online starts from the account you already have: if a station took your biometrics no more than three years ago, you can renew without going back; if not, you book a slot and appear again.
Facts checked on 29 October 2026, using the portal and the PNP’s own renewal instructions.
Police clearance renewal online: the two routes
The portal calls them renewal with appearance and renewal without appearance. Here’s how they compare:
| Without appearance | With appearance | |
|---|---|---|
| Who can use it | Applicants whose last in-person clearance is three years old or less | Anyone with an account |
| Where it happens | Fully online | Online booking, then one station visit |
| What you upload | A 2×2 photo, plus a selfie with your valid ID in hand | Nothing |
| Biometrics | Your stored record is reused | Taken again at the station |
| How you receive it | Download from your account once approved | Printed at the station |
| Fee | ₱150 plus the payment-channel charge | The same |

A quick reminder: this site is an independent guide, not the PNP. Every renewal happens on the official portal, inside your own account.
Which renewal of police clearance fits you?
Use these short cases to pick your route before you sign in:
- Your last station visit was less than three years ago, and you still use that account. Renew without appearance and skip the trip.
- More than three years have passed. Renew with appearance, because the portal needs fresh biometrics.
- You opened a second account since then. The new account has no stored record, so it can’t use the no-visit route. Go back to the old login instead.
- You need the clearance tomorrow. Book an appearance slot. A station visit with no HIT ends with the paper in your hand, while an online renewal waits for approval.
- You’re working abroad. That’s not a renewal at all. The portal’s Clearance Certification route covers Filipinos based overseas.
How to renew police clearance online without appearance
The PNP’s application guide keeps this route short. Here’s the order that works:
Step 1: Sign in to your old account
Use the same email and password as last time. If you forgot the password, use the reset link rather than registering again. Our login help covers the common snags.
Step 2: Update your profile
Check your address, civil status and contact number. Then fix anything that changed, because the new clearance prints what your profile says today.
Step 3: Choose renewal without appearance
Open Clearance Application and pick the renewal option without appearance. After that, select your purpose.
Step 4: Upload the two photos
The portal asks for two images: a 2×2 photo of you, plus a selfie in which you’re holding your valid government-issued ID. So shoot both in good light, with your face and the ID clearly readable. Our non-appearance guide covers the photo mistakes behind most rejected uploads.

Step 5: Pay and wait for approval
Pay on LandBank’s ePayment page, just like a first application. Then check your account each day. The portal doesn’t publish a processing time for this route, so leave a few working days of buffer before any deadline.
Step 6: Download and print
Once the application is approved, download the clearance from your account profile. Print it on clean paper, and save the file somewhere safe.
Police clearance renewal with appearance
This route feels like your first application, minus the sign-up. Sign in, choose renewal with appearance, and set your police clearance renewal online appointment: a station, a date and a session. Next, pay before the cut-off, because unpaid bookings can be dropped two banking days ahead. Finally, go to the station with your ID, reference number and receipt.
Staff retake your photo and fingerprints there. When the records check shows no HIT, you walk out with your new clearance that day. For slot tips, read our page on booking an appointment.
Police clearance renewal requirements and fee
The requirements for police clearance renewal depend on the route:
- Both routes: access to your old account, and payment through the portal
- Without appearance: the 2×2 photo and the selfie with your ID
- With appearance: one valid ID, your reference number and proof of payment at the station
As for the police clearance renewal fee, it’s the regular ₱150 plus your payment channel’s charge. Keep in mind that the free clearance for first-time jobseekers works only once. If you already used it, a renewal costs the normal amount. Our fee breakdown has the details.
Renewal mistakes that slow things down
Most delays come from a handful of habits. Watch for these:
- Registering a fresh account. It has no stored record, so it loses the no-visit route.
- A blurry selfie. If staff can’t read your ID in the photo, expect a request for new uploads.
- Paying before you update your profile. Your old address or civil status then prints on the new paper.
- Waiting until deadline week. An online renewal needs time for approval, so start early.
- Picking the first-time jobseeker purpose again. That free clearance works only once.
When should you renew? Many employers want a clearance issued within the last few months. So renew when a new requirement comes up, not on a fixed schedule.
Quick answers
Can I renew my police clearance online?
Yes, as long as your last station visit was three years ago or less and you sign in to the same account. Otherwise, you book online and visit a station.
Is a PNP clearance renewal the same as applying again?
In practice, yes. A renewal counts as a fresh application filed from your existing account, and it gives you a new clearance with six more months of validity.
Paano mag renew ng police clearance?
Log in to the account you used before, choose a renewal with or without appearance, then pay. After that, either upload your photos or visit the station.
Can I extend my old clearance instead?
No. A clearance can’t be extended. Once it expires, you renew, and how long a clearance lasts explains how employers count the months.
In short
- Same account and a station visit within three years: renew from home.
- Otherwise: book, pay and appear once more.
- Either way, you pay the usual fee and get a fresh six months. For everything else, see our main police clearance guide.
