PNP Clearance: The Official Website and How to Use It

PNP clearance portal shown in a browser window with a padlock and a check mark

There is one official website for a PNP clearance: pnpclearance.ph. It’s where the PNP runs its National Police Clearance System, and every application, renewal and check goes through it.

Last checked: 17 October 2026, on pnpclearance.ph itself.

That matters because search results are full of look-alike pages, and a few even put “official” in their titles. We’re an independent guide ourselves. That’s why we send you to the official PNP clearance portal instead of asking you for anything.

What is the PNP clearance system?

“PNP clearance” is the everyday name for the National Police Clearance. The National Police Clearance System (NPCS) is the online police clearance system behind it. It checks your name and fingerprints against one nationwide database, so the clearance works anywhere in the country.

In short, it’s the Philippine National Police clearance system for everyone, from first-timers to people renewing. The PNP’s own IT unit designed the PNP National Police Clearance System, and the site’s footer still says so.

Who uses the PNP clearance portal?

More people than you’d expect:

  • First-timers. They register, book a slot at any station on the list and pay online. Then they visit that station once for their photo and fingerprints.
  • People renewing. They sign in to the same account. If they appeared in person for a clearance in the past three years, they can skip the station.
  • Employers and agencies. They check a clearance with the Verify Clearance tool.
  • Applicants who can’t come in at all. Bedridden applicants, for example, use the Clearance Certification route.

How the NPCS website works

PNP clearance website sections: register, log in, tutorials, verify clearance and contact

The National Police Clearance System (NPCS) website has a short home page. Across the top you’ll find Home, Registration, Tutorials, Verify Clearance and Contact, plus two buttons: Register and Login.

  • Register and Login open your account. New users sign up here, and returning users sign in with the email they used before. If signing in gives you trouble, our login help is the place to start.
  • Tutorials holds three PNP guides: one for applying in person, one for non-appearance renewals and one for Clearance Certification.
  • Verify Clearance asks for a last name and the clearance transaction number. After one check, you wait about 30 seconds before the next. Here’s how employers check a clearance.
  • Contact lists the help desk at the One Stop Shop in Camp Crame, Quezon City. It’s open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Once you sign in, the NPCS online application runs in a set order. You fill in your profile and open Clearance Application. Then you book a slot, pay on LandBank’s ePayment page and visit the station. Our police clearance online guide walks through each screen.

Should you register or log in?

Register only if you’ve never had a national police clearance. If you have, log in with the email you used last time, even if it was years ago. Renewals, including the non-appearance option, work only from that same account. Lost the password? Our login guide covers what to do, so you don’t end up with a second account.

How do you know it’s the real PNP clearance site?

Many pages call themselves a police clearance online portal. Check three things before you type anything:

  • The exact address. It’s pnpclearance.ph, with no spaces and nothing added. People often search for “pnp clearance.ph” or “police clearance.gov.ph,” and those searches can lead to look-alike pages.
  • The footer. The real site carries a Philippine National Police copyright line and credits the PNP’s IT unit.
  • The payment step. Payment leaves the portal only for LandBank’s ePayment page. Nobody should ask you to send money to a personal e-wallet number.

A padlock in the address bar proves less than people think. It only means the connection is encrypted, and fake sites can have one too.

In February 2025, Philippine embassies and consulates reminded the public that pnpclearance.ph is the only official police clearance website. They also warned about fake sites and people posing as government officials. If a police clearance website asks for your ID photos through chat, close it.

What does the privacy notice on the portal mean?

The home page shows that the NPCS is registered with the National Privacy Commission under the Data Privacy Act of 2012. As the notice itself says, that NPC registration certificate only proves registration. Protecting your data is still partly on you, so enter it only on pnpclearance.ph.

Is there an eGov police clearance option?

People ask this a lot, because government apps keep adding services. Still, the PNP’s own how-to guide sends applicants to pnpclearance.ph, so start there. Your account and payment record live in the NPCS, and so does the non-appearance renewal you may use later.

Is there an official police clearance app?

The PNP’s guide mentions the website only. Treat any police clearance app in an app store as unofficial unless the PNP links to it. The portal runs in a normal phone or computer browser, so you don’t need an app.

What can’t you do on the portal?

A few things still happen offline. The first time, you still go to a station so staff can take your photo, signature and fingerprints. The station won’t take your payment, so you pay online first. And once your clearance prints, nobody can edit its details. A typo means a new application, so check your profile before you save it.

What does the PNP clearance cost?

Opening an account costs nothing. The clearance itself costs ₱150, and the payment channel adds a small convenience fee on top. First-time jobseekers with the barangay’s certification pay nothing for one clearance, under RA 11261. Our fee guide breaks down the total.

Quick recap

  • pnpclearance.ph is the national police clearance portal, so bookmark that police clearance link.
  • Register, apply, pay, renew and verify there, and nowhere else.
  • If a page looks official but sits on any other address, leave it.
